The swelling usually goes away after anything from a few days to a few weeks.

You may be self-conscious if you have a “double chin” or a layer of fat beneath your chin. Whether you have a double chin due to the natural aging process, genetics, or weight gain, Kybella may be a good solution. It’s a non-surgical, FDA-approved injectable therapy that can reduce extra fat below your chin and even the size of your jowls. Pricing varies from customer to customer because each Kybella treatment plan is unique. However, Kybella treatments typically cost between $400 and $1,200 per session. The number of treatments required will have a significant impact on the overall cost. In rare circumstances, we may propose performing CoolSculpting first to debulk the fat in the submental area. Coolsculpting does not induce the post-procedural edema seen with Kybella, resulting in reduced downtime. The first and second treatments may also be less expensive. After the CoolSculpting procedure, the area can be fine-tuned and the jowls reduced using Kybella.
It’s critical to note that because Kybella is a cosmetic procedure rather than a medical necessity, your insurance will not cover it. The good news is that we can discuss a treatment plan that includes many treatments over time to attain your desired results. Payment is made as you choose below or specify if you prefer to pay per treatment, and you are not required to sign up for an expensive package in advance.
Kybella is an injectable therapy that contains a synthetic deoxycholic acid that is identical to what your gallbladder produces on a daily basis. Deoxycholic acid degrades and aids in the absorption of dietary fat. Our board-certified dermatologists will inject Kybella into the fat behind your chin and in your jowls to permanently shrink fat cells and leave you with a smaller face, all while causing no discomfort. We recommend three to four treatments spaced eight to twelve weeks apart for the double-chin areas. Alternatively, we frequently treat patients with 1-2 Coolsculpting submental treatments followed by 1-2 Kybella treatments. In most cases, just 1–2 treatments are required to minimize jowls.
After Kybella destroys your fat cells, those cells will no longer be able to store or accumulate fat. Therefore, you shouldn’t require any additional treatment once you achieve your desired results. Kybella is truly a permanent solution to your double chin and only has minimal pain and some post-operative bruising and swelling.
